Our line of rotorblades are, without question, the finest value in the sport rotary-wing industry. The aluminum blades are manufactured as a single extrusion—without seams, rivets or bonding of any kind—of high-strength aluminum, providing exceptional performance and reliability plus the greatest strength for their weight of any blades on the market. And yet, they are priced far below the competition.

NEW COMPOSITE ROTORBLADES: Vortech is offering a new line of high-quality composite rotorblades with a newly enhanced design—the most affordable composite blades available. These blades are built around a 4130 aircraft steel spar and a highly resilient wood core for great strength and solidity without a weight penalty; the wood core is much more durable than a foam filling often used. The composite skins are triple layered (double-layered for lengths below 8') with a super high-strength outer layer of Kevlar, a middle layer of S-glass and an inner layer of E-glass; these layers are securely bonded to the core. The trailing edge is further strengthened internally with a full-length 6061-T6 aluminum plate. The leading and trailing edges are sealed for a completely encapsulated, smooth and aerodynamic skin. On the top and bottom of the root end of the blade are 4130 steel plates that provide a flat surface for mounting to the hub plates. The composite blades are available in a variety of sizes in both the NACA 0012 and NACA 8H12 airfoils. Custom sizes and mountings are also available—please inquire. We offer sizes for any homebuilt rotorcraft application—both for the main and tail rotor of helicopters (the NACA 0012 series), or for the main rotor of gyroplanes (the NACA 8H12 blades). These blades are retrofittable on such popular helicopters as the RotorWay Scorpion and Exec, the CHR Safari, the PAM-100B Flying Platform, the Commuter, Adams-Wilson Choppy, Windspire Aeros, etc.; and for the wide variety of one- and two-seat gyroplanes. The extruded aluminum blades are easily cut to size where required. Further, their “cellular” construction makes mounting and balancing a simple matter. For our composite rotorblades we offer custom lengths.

The cutaway view on the left illustrates the cellular structure of the single extrusion comprising the Vortech rotorblades. This construction yields an amazingly light, yet torsionally rigid rotor system. While this cutaway illustrates an asymmetrical (8-H-12) blade, VI also offers symmetrical (0012) blades.
